so why am i doing it?
well.....i have received my first 'hate mail'....it has been about a week and i am so happy to say that it did not knock me off my beam...now that is progress....
what i took away from the 'comment' was, this person was unhappy with the way i was promoting my YouTube channel....to make money....
well...duh...yeah....
there are a few reasons i am so active on my YouTube channel.....
- i love to share my ideas
- i love inspiring artists
- i love showing my 'humaness' so that others can do the same
- i love communicating with other playful souls
- i love to pay my bills......
so.....that being said....i do appreciate the feedback that i receive from my subscribers. i have had one subscriber that has requested i do a video and have all the links to amazon in one spot...now that is brilliant...an alphabetized list of supplies? i would like that...i look at that as an opportunity to make life easier for those that are looking for a product....of course, now i am a bit 'gun-shy'....do i receive a bit of $$ from amazon? yes i do...i received a $40 gift card for the past month...and i love that...but clearly i am not posting the links so that i can pay off my mortgage, right?
i am on the fence about the video promoting products...ANY feedback is welcome....
thank you for your support....
see you on the table!

Go for it I say.
ReplyDeleteI would love to buy through your links to Amazon, but they are SO EXPENSIVE in freight to my little corner of the world.
I would do the same for other artists I know as well.
Some people are just plain unhappy until they make someone else unhappy then they are really happy - sad world in places and sadder people who exist there.
What is seen cannot be unseen, but it is how we act or react to that image that is important.
As best you can, shake it off, wish them well, and move on with the amazing work that you do with and for those who truly appreciate you.
i shook it KW....thank you....i have set up an amazon account for the UK...but wow...stuff is so expensive there....wowza! thank you for ringing my bell....see you on the table??

ReplyDeletethat is so good to hear tanya....that is my intention...to make life easier....who wants to shop when you can create!!!
DeleteUnkind human behavior is, for me, one of life's toughest challenges. As you already know, usually when someone is unkind, it is because they are unhappy with some aspect of themselves or their lives. Your videos bring joy and enthusiasm to the world of art! Your Light shines through in your videos and is refreshing and geniune. Keep doing what you're doing LM...No one can please everyone all the time! And that, my friend, is just the way it is!
ReplyDeleteand that my friend, is just the way it is....i will stay in my safe herd and i will be protected! see you on the table sweet love!
DeleteI can't imagine that anyone would have an unkind word for you. You inspire and are joyful and a pleasure to watch!
ReplyDeleteAzanna
thank you azanna....your kind words are so healing!!! see you on the table?
DeleteWow. I remember you telling me about this last weekend. I'm still floored. I mean... how dare you want to make a living with your art, right? We as artists should just give it all away and be happy people want it or our knowledge, right? It makes me a little salty. I am glad you roll with it a lot better than I would.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have those links, and if you get a little credit your way from Amazon when people click on the links... GREAT! Same goes for the ads at the beginning of the videos.
You keep being your usual wonderful self!
thank you my amazing phoenyx! we shall persevere! and make art too....lol! cannot wait to see you again...yep....on the table!!!
DeleteI love your videos!! And you're a wonderful teacher too. Wish I lived closer, but the videos are the next best thing! So inspirational and always anxious to try different things, thanks to you! And I would definitely support you via Amazon links - great idea!
ReplyDeletethank you diane! i am working on a video that has the links....that way if someone wants to visit amazon for suggestions....they will all be in one place....brilliant i say! see you on the table my friend...
DeleteThere are 4459 other people who think you are great. I always look for affiliates when buying stuff, want you to get something out of it you tell me how to use it, inspire me and love your stuff. Glad it has not thrown you. Many other artists are posting similar things about negative people giving nasty comments, wonder if it is the same person going around them all.lol have not had it happen to me yet, don't know how I would react. Keep on keeping on see you on the table whether they like it or not.
ReplyDeletegood morning maris! lol....that puts it into perspective doesn't it? 4459 viewers...1 unviewer! lol....thank you for the reminder!!!
Deletesee you on the table!
Please please keep on shining! There are unkind and very negative people in this world unfortunately, and that's what they do for whatever reasons. Social media is an ideal and anonymous platform for people to say such unkind stuff that they wouldn't say in person. Ignore them and continue to do what you are doing...that is doing what you love and what makes you (and us) happy!
ReplyDeleteWould def support you via links if I can from this little rock that I live on.
Can't wait to see you again 'on the table'.
good morning darling debs....we are just going to keep on keeping on...right? thank goodness i have supporters like you to hold my hand through the shaky times....life is so much fun....some people are not having that much fun....yep...see you on the table...
DeleteHeck, if I needed toilet paper and you could get $.10 off me buying from your link. I would have asked you for a link to your laser printer, but the hubby bought it for me first because if “LorriMarie said she uses one”, then I needed one. Thank you for answering all my curious question.
ReplyDeletegood morning marie! you got your printer? yahooooooo.....thank you hubby! i hope you are having tons o'fun with it! transfers rock! see you on the table girlfriend!!! (if you need some toilet paper i would be happy to just send you some...lol!!!)
Deleteyes please love to know what products are being used successfully
ReplyDeletei know i like it when someone tries something and then they let me know if it is a good or bad product....right? saves me the trouble of trying it out....anyway...how is the weather in ohio? handsome hubby is from kent!
DeleteGo for it! Nobody is being forced to watch and nobody is forced to buy. You deserve to make a little money for so generously sharing your time and talent!😘
ReplyDeletekathy....nope.....not forcing anybody...you are right! i am going to keep on keeping on!!! thank you!!
DeleteI personally love your YouTube channel! I think sharing a link to the products you use is logical. I personally see nothing wrong with it. In fact it helps me. When I'm watching your video and I say I'd really like to do that I would love to have a link to find the things I need to emulate or create on my own. You're one of my favorites! Because you are unique and you gleefully embrace your uniqueness. I think art should be shared and I appreciate you sharing yours with us! Keep up the good work and know that you are valued!
ReplyDeleteHi! Seems like a Universal Law, people who share negativity are actually voicing how they feel about themselves. It's not about you or how you do things. They're unhappy with their own life, within that subject, so they have to unload it any chance they get. My reaction is 'Awww, this person is unhappy, bless them.' You have the right to conduct your life any way you choose fit. I"m not talking about morality, or personal habits, I'm talking about Vocation. The term 'Starving Artist' is not cute. People who think it is are not artists. Would anyone think 'Starving (your vocation here) is cute? Dont' think so. Artists need to make a living.
ReplyDeleteAs an Artist, I appreciate your sharing your resources and source list. Just saves me tons of time searching for cool supplies. Using your link doesn't cost me a penny, it's just good karma to repay the kindness for making my life easier.
As for PayPalMe, I ask myself, how much do I get out of your vids? Priceless. It's not the exact content, it's the vibe, it makes my creative juices flow. I'd say to everyone who enjoys your vids, for even the price of a Starbuck's coffee, show this vid maker some love, some appreciation for the happiness you get while watching. I think some people see that PayPal Me thing and think that to 'matter' they'd need to send quite a bit. But realize that if everyone who watched sent $1, that would really add up and 'feed' this artist, get her creative juices really flowing, inspire her with a feeling that what she's doing matters.
Sorry, this is long, but it's a simple matter of showing appreciation.
Muchas gracias
